Issues With DNA Testing Companies

After extensive research and my personal experiences my family had with the DNA testing companies, I felt an urgency to share my discoveries and my own experience.

Many DNA companies claim they are capable of telling you your ethnic race, which countries you are from and where your ancestors originate from among other things they claim, especially linking you to your real family and relatives. Our family for years have never known our true ethnic race but only knew what we were told from adoption on my mother's part (we discovered this was false information), and we never knew who was our true family. Beforehand, I did research and discovered DNA companies are not 100%. I even read many blogs and my mother showed me many Youtube videos saying how all of it is a hoax just recently. From our own experience, I believe these companies are nothing but liars, hoaxes, frauds only there to take money. In a way I disagree and agree.

 My own experience: Ancestry.com

My mother took a DNA test and sent it in. After a few weeks, Ancestry gave us results. It said the countries that were in relation to her were Iberian Peninsula, Spain, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Australia, Finland, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, England, Sweden, Scandinavia, Germany, France, Turkey, Middle East (mostly from Islamic countries but not specifying which countries), Hawaii, Maori Lands, China, Japan, South and North Korea, Philippines, Pacific Islands, Congo, Nigeria, New Zealand, Netherlands. Although small percentage, due to our family being of mixed ancestry, the company couldn't really accurately tell where our family or which countries we are from. The list goes on (this is only half), and I believed this was a bit unrealistic how our family can descend from all of these countries. This is because my family are considered Eurasian (I will fully explain in another post). Ancestry claimed however most of the percentage is from Congo, Nigeria, Senegal and other African countries. This was confusing to us due to our appearance and hair (color and texture) and eye color. Well here is the real incident. My mother's adoptive family are African American (we found a very interesting document on the family though I wished to share soon). I have heard that their family actually descends from Congo, Senegal, Nigeria and other African countries. She contacted Ancestry to tell them this, especially that they are not her real family, but due to the family already having connection with her on the site and what we claim our race is (due to what we were told only). Ancestry disregarded what my mother told them, and only based it on what we thought we were and my mother's adoptive family. The company combined our true background with the adoptive family's background, and random countries. They found no Native American and Jewish traits. The adoptive family claims to have Native American, but from the document found, I doubt they really have Native American too. Only a small amount of the result was true. They matched us to who is our family. They seemed like a bunch of random human beings. From many African Americans, to Iranians, Caucasians, Hispanics and all other sorts.

A few weeks later, the result completely changes. This time the results were all European countries. They changed the matches who were our family. My mother and I were confused about this how can it change this drastically.

That wasn't the end. A week later, the DNA results changed again, but this time the results changed to completely almost 100% African origin. Then the information changed to the slave trade thing. This seemed off and inaccurate. They were way off this time. These results remained for many months.

For the fourth time after my mother contacts Ancestry, the DNA changes again. She is greeted by a strange message saying welcome to seeing her DNA results for the first time. However this was not her first time seeing her results. The fourth result was similar to the first results. There was now mostly Islamic countries, but weirdly combined with my mother's adoptive family's background and origins. The same African countries appeared. This was along with UK countries, Russia, Ukraine and other European countries and Australia.

23andME

My mother tried this company 23and Me. We were curious about their results. After registering the kit, my mother had to answer a series of questions to help determine her origins and everything. I purchased a kit based upon a suggestion. However we had second thoughts, but I discovered when trying to cancel the order I could not. 23ndMe says cancellation must happen within 60 minutes or the order cannot be canceled or changed. I wished to change it because I decided that I wanted to give the kit to my step-grandma, but they said changing it was also impossible after 60 minutes. We are waiting forever for the results to return.

Third Important Thing

The Drumgole or also spelled Drumgoole, Drumgold family and also Lindy Boggs also Marie Corinne Morrison CLAIBORNE known as: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindy_Boggs always associate with Drumgole family in my search. Also when I search, I read about how this Drumgole woman use to be a slave on a plantation, but worked in Boggs' adoption agency and was not forced to return to the plantation. Her father was actually the person who told, young Drumgole she should leave the plantation. She worked under Lindy Boggs' agency until she died. I think the story is interesting. Anyway, my family are trying to find out where we truly originate and who we truly relate to. With my own research and piecing things together, I was able to know some information.

World's Capital of Halloween & The U.S. Capital of the Witch

For years, many may believe Salem and other places in the world holds the title of the Capital of Halloween, Wicca, Satanic Practices and Witches, but I have uncovered a dark past of Minnesota that remains in the present.

In 1920, Anoka County, Minnesota is the first known location in the world to hold a first Halloween parade and first official celebration of Halloween. Perhaps its past has a huge role in it. Though anyway, in late 1910's up to the 1950's and during the time, there were several displays of mischief and prank playing, which is where (not really officially due to Halloween's older history) official "Trick or Treat".

Due to our haunted house, I wondered why there was great Satanic, Witch and demonic type activity, therefore research was done. From my research, I also found out Minnesota is known for dark hauntings, but the world does not realize it yet. What my family experienced in our house, well, Proud Land deserves the title of legendary, not limited to U.S., but the world's darkest and haunted house.

Years ago in a church, I remember a pastor telling everyone Minnesota was the State for warlocks and witchcraft. At the time I did not realize this to be true.

I conducted my own research and came across many documentation saying in the twin cities, Anoka County, Columbia Heights, St. Paul and Minneapolis had and still has a large following of witchcraft. This goes back hundreds of years in Minnesota's past. I read as typical, but Minnesota is not called the U.S. capital of the witch if this was not true; if it wasn't true that most who practiced Wicca and black magic were women in the land. The reason can be somewhat understandable. Most women especially in the State felt oppression by the religion of Christianity which was the religion for U.S. Also how in history women were limited, and had no way of leadership especially spiritually. Therefore, they felt they found that in black magic. This is not only in Minnesota, but that is why many women turned to Wicca throughout history and throughout the world. The world and traditional religions limits their potential they believe. Taking up Wicca, they feel (and has) power, leadership opportunities and much more. However the highest number goes to the State of Minnesota. Women in Minnesota were mostly Ex-Christians who were tired of limitations and felt more with purpose in dark magic. It just became a curse and contagious that many took up the Wiccan religion. Most and even my family were shocked of the number of followers. Only in a short time frame in the past, it was said to have been over 20,000 witches in the land and the number was growing. It remains to grow. Not only females took to black magic, but males did as well. That is where the name warlocks come in. This is why also Minnesota holds the title of being the most known for warlocks in the U.S. and even at times in the world. I believe males took more to the Satanic cults/churches though.

Many may not know this at all, but Minnesota especially in the named cities were and are heavy with the occultic cult Church of Satan. There is also many documentation of something called Satan's temple (second). It is so heavy, it almost puts Salem to shame. Today, there are still heavy involvement in Satanism, Church of Satan, Satan's Temple, Wicca and black magic. In fact, there is still a large following of the dark religion. It is known from past to present, they celebrate Halloween or an ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. Majority are just oblivious to it.

I just wanted to share my findings, and let others know what location really deserves the titles said.

Proud Land: Missing Past?

I have begun the search again of trying to find some historical record of Proud Land, but still nothing. I am going to add in the history of the house in the book, but it is strange how the history of the house is just not there.

I have pulled up some documents, records and historical readings to give me a hint of the neighborhood. I have heard of cemeteries being dug up and parks and other things being built on them. Also, there were many events that could bring dark energy. Although these some tidings, nothing related to the house. I have even went to the city hall and historical places that was suppose to have the history, but they do not.

A few rumors has it that this house was important, but then why is there no record of the house? Almost like it doesn't exist? It is almost like the records do not exist anymore, were destroyed and/or for some reason is not given out to anyone. Yes, I have read of the abnormal string of fires in the town throughout mid 1800's until like 1930. This is extremely abnormal for these many fires to have started as often as they did, but it happened.

This is the issue I was trying to explain to the forum site, but ended up with another annoying problem: http://tikaanimoon.blogspot.com/2015/12/absolute-write-macallister.html

By the way, the suggestions they have suggested were all done already like I said, but still nothing was found. My family has heard that this house was once a farm, store, perhaps somewhere the town would hold town meetings or the thought it could have been anything else. However what is claimed cannot be found because the documents are not there. During my family's search throughout the house, I found old fashion surgical tools such as a tool for amputation and other tools. I have also came across (which will be given in detail in the book) many arrowheads and an old bullet in the yard.

I have found a few names of spirits seen in the house, but I am not sure how they relate to the house. Of course research was conducted on these men, but nothing was found how they connect to the house. The names are:

  1. Thomas Lowry
  2. Alfred Brunson
  3. Joseph H. Baker
  4. John Culbertson
  5. James H. Baker
  6. Edward D. Neill
  7. Dr. John Emerson
Along with others, I feel the Brunson family has a huge relation to the house, but my family are unable to find it. We are open to any information about these gentlemen. Also we have been trying to contact the previous owners with no success.

Semalt & Upgrading The Blog

Semalt is an eye opener and really helps. Here is how. Well, first how I discovered this website by my blog stats. When I clicked on the link, I discovered how useful it can be to me. Being a perfectionist, I knew mistakes were being made, but now Semalt gave analysis and things about the blog I can improve. I believe the price is worth it and it is not at all a waste of money. Any professional would find this site useful if they are looking to make their blog more successful and error free. Also it gives advice in how to make a certain presence online, and which social sites are really important to have. The link to the Website (About the Company): http://semalt.org/

Yes, it drives me crazy about the errors I have. That is the purpose of the blog upgrade. The upgrade would not only change how the blog looks, but add elements I require to being a business professional, and to be taken seriously. I am planning not to create a website, but my blog is becoming my website in which I discovered many writers doing this. I read how writers don't necessarily need a website if they have a blog, so that is my plan.

The sudden and drastic change to my brand due to Facebook, caused confusion and stuff but I have been trying to introduce. This forced me to do everything over.

Semalt shared how it is important to have Google (also a good audience and following), Twitter and Facebook. That was included with the blog upgrade, I was going to properly input Social Media buttons in the blog. However, I will never do any business or have a Facebook button on my blog. In fact, during the blog upgrade, I am having the Facebook share button removed. If reading my experience with Facebook, I will leave my presence on Facebook absent: http://tikaanimoon.blogspot.com/2015/08/update-about-facebook.html

I understand it is important to build reputation on social media especially as a writer. I'm going to improve my Google marketing approach and all of my approaches. I study marketing and will bring those tactics in. With Semalt and the blogging tutorials, I will improve things more. I am learning coding, IP canonicalization and all that technology stuff is easier to write about than it is to actually do. I am usually writing everything in a book, not really doing it.

I have to also mention a helpful source for blog tutorials. Tom De Spiegelaere

I found his channel on Youtube when trying to look at blogging tutorials. He shared the benefits of blogging and also how to avoid blogging mistakes.

I do not think I can manage more than one blog. I can hardly manage accounts of different social sites. That is why I decided to combine the Proud Land blog and my living doll blog into this blog. There will be pages to each topic, and also the tag labels will assist with this as well I hope. I usually write about everything I write about in my books, manga, games etc. I heard how Tom said about a blog being too broad or otherwise narrow/specific, but this Blogger blog must have compromises. I created however Tumblr blogs for the haunted house, my living doll lifestyle and author career. All of the social media except Facebook will be on the blog soon. I also heard an issue to think about when blogging from Tom. He mentioned about running out of posts/topics or things to write about. Being a writer and with all this stuff going on, I am sure I won't. I hope not.

Also, Tom mentioned how blogging will make you a better writer. Being a writer, I should be a better writer, but I have been noticing my own mistakes. How I write my books is entirely different than when I write anywhere else. Perhaps I should write more how I write my books, but I find it difficult writing not using Old English, Victorian and British grammar. This causes many mistakes. Also my issue is that I have a habit of not proofreading anything before posting, tweeting or sending an email or anything outside of writing my projects. I mostly would have to keep reading it over (afterwards) before noticing a mistake. This I will try to improve on. As I am working on my first book series, I am working to upgrade the blog.

February and March Updates

Meanwhile during the upgrade is being done for the blog, I had disturbing updates and news about Proud Land that could not wait. This news would be better for the upgrade, but I just wished to share this.

The book about our experience in the house is being written, yes. It is not finished and I am uncertain what to do due to the constant activity in the house. However living in this house after about 15 years of enduring, surviving and putting up with so much. We have seen, felt, heard and experienced almost everything anyone can ever experience in a haunted house. When the book is finished and published (ready to be read), everyone would fully understand the multitude of what my family endured. I do not believe anyone else could have endured what we have, especially for the length of time. That is why all previous owners did not last more than a year. No pastor or paranormal investigator will visit the house. My family have even contacted the teams from television (Ghost Adventures, TAPS/Ghost Hunters, Nick Groff etc.), and all and even all local teams will not dare step into this house. Artists are even too afraid to draw promotional artwork for the book and blog.

For February and March updates, before then, nothing was occurring in the house. Just when I was getting use to no activity, the spirits returned with their tormenting with a vengeance. Despite all we've been through, we maintained our ability to survive another year.

Like the chapter for the haunted vehicle, I wonder is this the end for our time living in Proud Land? We plan to continue to own the house, but accepted to make the house into a tour attraction/historic landmark. It is just the activity is worsening each day, and we've had enough. It can be difficult to part since this is my childhood home. Despite this, unfortunately after putting up a good fight against the spirits, they have won. I will soon finish the book which shares everything we been through; Proud Land is a house that is no longer suitable for the name and theme Proud Land, although we will keep the nickname. I look forward to publishing the book to share our experience. Due to its severity and unusual activity, I know Proud Land will be a house that will be known worldwide. It isn't anything anyone has quite experienced or read in a 100% true book. No longer peace is felt, but eeriness and a disturbing energy. The house puts fear in everyone's heart, and leaves a permanent scar that will follow for the rest of your life.

Blog Upgrade Progress

Okay I am in the process of upgrading my blog. Like what was said earlier, the Proud Land blog, the blog for my family's haunted house will be combined to the Tikaani Moon blog: http://mnproudland.blogspot.com/

I am self reliant, it can be difficult to rely on someone else to assist with everything. I say this due to the issues I can have with certain humans. I do appreciate assistance however, and if I can admit if I lack the skills to do something, I will. However I prefer to do everything myself, but like what I said before, I will admit if I cannot do something myself.

I have been reading and watching tutorials on designing a blog and coding. Due to some of my books and manga projects, I may require to learn coding anyway. However currently I cannot code as needed for the blog and the business website. I understand it now more a bit, but cannot code at the time. As one of the tutorials tells, I have changed the template to a white blank simple background. I will try this designing thing, but will hire someone from 99designs if all fails. I may take their services anyway. Although not a specific deadline, I need the blog upgrade as soon as possible. I would like to have this before my move to Japan, which is soon because I already have a company there interested in publishing all of my work. My games have grasped the interest in the arcade, gaming buildings in Japan as well. Also that I would like for the blog to look how I desire it to look.

Currently I am hosting a project to design the background and other artwork for the blog. Tikaani Moon will have a complete change. No longer the mysterious and dark loner. Of course I will keep the Native American theme, but the theme will change completely. It will be kawaii a bit with vintage combined. I just hope it will fit with the projects I write, that is why dark was more fitting my theme. However adaption were required to be made.

I am busy with many things, but I will try to blog. If some wonder why my blog seems random, I blog about all of things I write about. Also I am a living doll, so I only have time to manage one blog.
